Welcome to the 'Sathipattana' Blog and what we are about to discuss and share in here is the sacred preaches of lord Buddha's known as 'Sutta' and all those 'suttas' combined together made the biggest volume known as 'Sutta Pitaka' in the sacred text of Buddhist known as 'Tripitaka'.

There are so many references in 'Tripitaka' that Lord Buddha has mentioned about practicing 'Sathipattana' in various occasions to his disciples. Among all those references one stand out the most - 'Maha Sathipattana Sutta'. It is the longest preach exist in 'Sutta Pitaka' teaching diciples how to practice 'Sathara Sathipattana'(four mindfulness techniques) and the benefits of practicing 'Sathipattana'. 'Sathipattana' is the core of lord buddha's teachings and in order to become successful in the journey of super mundane path, one must practice 'Sathipattana' exactly the same way lord buddha has taught us. 'Sathipattana' is the course of practicing dhamma and one who practices successfully, will be able to awake wisdom to attain supreme bliss of nibbana. There is no other way to accomplish the four noble truths and practicing 'Sathipattana' is the only way to self-aware the four noble truths and attain nibbana.

Before discussing 'Sathipattana' in detail lets first look at what are the prerequisite Lord Buddha's disciple must fulfill in order to practice 'Sathipattana'. In today's world most of the Lord Buddha's original sermons have been manipulated and there are lot of Buddhist religious groups emerged in the recent past and apparently they claimed that they deliver and share the original words of Lord Buddha but the truth is that they have only touched the surface of deep and vast ocean of dhamma Lord Buddha preached to his followers. Unfortunately, the core teachings of Lord Buddha's dhamma has been forgotten or forbidden to today's true followers and only the parts that can be understood and practiced easily in day today life have been taught to them. May it be a meditation, moral practice ,dhamma sermons, alms giving or worshipping these groups have altered those activities to suit 21st century and teaching people to 'live a good life as taught by Lord Buddha' impersonating it is what all Lord Buddha had taught to his disciples. The Dhamma Lord Buddha had preached to his followers are not just meant to teach them how to live a meritorious life, but also to end the suffering from being exist in the endless 'samsara'. Including our Lord Buddha known as 'Gouthama Samma Sambuddha', all 'Samma Sambuddhas' were born in the past and to be born in future are born not to just teach us how to live a good life. There is far more value and a purpose on Buddha's birth as Buddha is the only one who can tell and show the path to salvation from endless realms of 'Samsara'. Both 'good life' and 'bad life' are part of suffering ('Samsara') and no Buddha has or will ever praise, not even for a moment, being in 'Samsara'. Thus, it is very important for all the Buddhist and anyone who interested on following the path to know and understand the heart of dhamma Lord Buddha has taught and the practical aspect of the middle path Lord Buddha had taught and demonstrated to his disciples. Lets discuss more details in the next post how Lord Buddha want us to practice 'Dhamma' to follow the noble path as devoted followers of his and where to start the journey of enlightenment.
